Networking Club - Dorchester - 1 September 2008

The topic of this event was Inspiration. We work hard, we fill our hours with the things our organisations need us to get done – we would all recognise the ‘perspiration’ element of the workplace. However, how often are we inspired at work or by work? For some, this may be a feature of our jobs but for others we tend to not to associate inspiration with work. What would happen if our staff were truly inspired – by the work they do, by a manager or leader, by a colleague, by something our organisation does or by themselves? Would inspiration unlock potential? Bring about innovation? Increase motivation? Would we prefer to work somewhere that’s inspiring?

This network event focused on inspiration at work and looked at one key question – what inspires people at work and how can we get some of it? We explored broad topics such as inspirational leadership, unleashing innovation and making sure our organisations ‘do good’. We considered how we can use these ideas to improve the performance of our organisations and of course, looked at instances where organisations have got this very right and very wrong! Networking Club - Dorchester - 13 May 2008

Another successful Networking Club, with so many delegates we had to extend the room! These Networking Club meetings are becoming so popular that we are looking into putting on some extra dates. Unfortunately, we have had to turn bookings down, so book early for future events. The topic at this event was communication. Networking Club - Bristol - 17 April 2008

The Quality South West Investors in People Networking Club in Falfield, nr Bristol on 17th April was very interactive and all attendees expressed a wish to keep in touch.

Representatives from Bristol International Airport were very keen to share their experiences and learning with others and invited all interested parties to visit their offices at any time. click here to view photographs.

Another successful Networking Club, on the theme 'Boosting performance through making people happy - reward and recognition' took place at the Touch Base conference centre in Swindon on 26 February.
