What is Investors in People
In an increasingly challenging business environment, the biggest change expected by employees in the South West during the next twelve months is an increase in their workload, according to research released by Investors in People UK. The research also reveals that employees are already likely to be feeling the pressure, with over half (56%) saying that they have seen an increase in their workload over the last 12 months.
People are an organisation's greatest asset, and for an organisation to succeed everyone has to perform well. It sounds obvious but to achieve success, people need the right knowledge, skills and motivation to work efficiently. Yet, some of the key issues faced by organisations today are skills shortages, recruitment and retention and management and leadership development.
The Investors in People Standard provides a framework that helps organisations to improve performance and realise objectives through the effective management and development of their people.
Whatever the size or type of your organisation, whether private sector, public sector or a school, the Investors in People Standard is there to help you improve the way you work. Investors in People recognises that organisations use different means to achieve success through their people. The Standard does not prescribe any one method, but it provides a framework to help you find the most suitable means for achieving success through your people.
A new, more flexible approach!
We have recently introduced an even more flexible way for Investors in People to work with you. Having researched and piloted this thoroughly with customers, this new approach is already getting a very positive response!
The framework - the key changes
Customised: You can now tailor all of Investors in People to focus on your organisation’s key business priorities. Whether you are working with the Investors in People Standard or with the extended framework, your needs will be placed at the heart of any advice, development or assessment work we provide. Our aim will be to focus any work we do on your needs and help you to receive the best results against your performance targets.
Stretch: In order to provide you with more scope for development work and stretch, you can also now select additional evidence requirements beyond The Standard from the full framework to match your priorities
Additional recognition: We’re also introducing additional recognition for those who want to work beyond The Standard. Bronze, Silver and Gold scoring bands will now be awarded to organisations that meet additional achievement with the full framework.
One thing that hasn’t changed is the outcomes themselves in The Standard or full framework – which used to be called ‘Profile’. The evidence requirements you will be assessed against are all exactly the same – there’s just more choice on what you focus on.
